What did you do to your Ranger today? (Part Deux!)

Not sure what you mean by that. Most street fittings I have dealt with are street elbows. They had male not threads on one end and female not threads on the other. For example. 1/2" fnpt x 1/2" mnpt or 1/2" fnpt x 1/4"
That is with thread pipe. A pvc street 45 (1/8 bend) has one side female (hub, socket, belled, whatever you want to call it) the other side is pipe sized, meant to go in the female hub, but is not referred to as a male fitting. Same with copper fittings. Most cast iron nowadays uses no-hub bands. Cast iron Fittings are pipe sizes connected with rubber and metal bands. Leading is rarely done. Most of the wyes in these pics have street 45s glued in them, the ¹/16 bends at floor also are street

Pipes are just tubes...

You probably offended both pipes and tubes in four simple words....

I think what he is saying is one end is exactly like a pipe, no threads, no flaring, just pipe. The other end is prepared in some way to take another pipe whether it be flared or threaded.

He was thinking of pvc using glued joints. Works same way. I was thinking of threaded joints.

Hit a deer with my Red Ranger :dntknw:

Truck 1, Deer 0

Yup.

So full story, I was running a little behind for work. Somehow managed to spill coffee on myself (was not holding it at the time, it had a lid and was 1/3 or so gone). The thought crossed through my thick skull that perhaps it just wasn’t my day and I should turn around and call off. Shortly after I come around a bend and there’s a deer, I knew I was going to clobber it but I tried not to anyway. Blam. Down it went. Was on the edge of a cell phone dead zone. My F-150 and Green Ranger both have a knife, the Red did not. My go-bag I cleaned out last week I think and the two knives in there came out. The deer was still alive but not doing well, ended up having to restrain it while waiting for help because it couldn’t get up with the broken legs but started trying anyway. Out among farms and probably 20 people came past without offering help. As luck would have it, the guy who finally stopped and helped was driving a 98-00 extended cab Ranger. Got her put down and loaded in my truck and I took it back home to deal with it, then went to work a couple hours late.

So far, you're doing good on preventive maintenance. Don't forget to check coolant, brake fluid, power steering fluid, blinker fluid and can bus lubricant.

from the day I brought it home I have been checking over the truck weekly (y) before I left the dealership I checked all fluids & did a walk around of the truck
plus a good look over the interior....I do NOT trust anyone !

Similar situation happened to me, but without the deer.

Heading to the freight warehouse to ship a machine, stop for coffee. Set coffee on top of dash board because my '92 F150 doesn't have cup holders, pulled out of the parking lot and spilled it on myself. Ok, maybe I should just forget the coffee, nope I I'm gonna stop at the gas station for some more. Get my next cup of coffee, and head down the road. Stopped behind a school bus, set coffee on dash board. Some lady, who was on her phone, rear ended the truck, and spilled the coffee again. Hit me so hard it ripped the axle off the springs and pushed the trans and motor off their mounts. So I had to walk back to the place where I bought the first coffee, covered in coffee, in the rain, 35* outside, and bought some more coffee and a pack of cigarettes.

I did not go to work that day.

Dang, I feel lucky now.....

Wheel cylinder that I didn’t replace yet started leaking, so I nursed it home and capped it off for now. Probably Sunday afternoon will be that adventure. Tomorrow we go looking for another deer.

Speaking of, there were two outside the front door when I left for work this morning and 5 others crossed the road in front of me at various locations on the way to work this morning. I think they’re after me...

Hauled some railroad ties. Booger to load those by yourself, glad I have the slick bedliner.

Sounds like Trump is behind this... he has now rallied the deer herds too. That son of a....
