Im getting ready to put polyurethane body mount bushings on my 97 2wd ext cab and I need new hardware, the hardware I have is rusted down to nothing. And 3 of the mounts literally fell out therefor leaving me no choice to get new ones. Does anyone know exactly what I need ? Length of new bolts/ size and what washers should I get when I go to the hardware store tomorrow

Seems to me someone on here just bought new body mount hardware... maybe @pjtoledo ?

LMC truck will get you the hardware that you need. I have the bushings and will be ordering my hardware through them as needed since I have very little rust on my 94. The body bolts are a very fine thread so most hardware stores will not carry what is needed.

Im trying to do this on somewhat of a budget I cant make something else work?

Not sure what your body mount hardware threads into, but you could just buy some grade 8 hardware and thru bolt it with some nuts.

they need to be case hardened, grade 8's will do, and as fine a thread as possible. A course thread does not have the strength as a the fine threads so this is an important point to pay attention to.

why not just purchase the kit with them all in one, bushings and hardware?

I will make that work and yes I know exactly what you mean about fine threads. I wanted to do it this way because next spring im taking the body off anyway. I just need it to get me by until March or so when I do a more in depth resto and undercoat the frame and do body work and repaint etc.

I kinda copied the construction method used for some of the aftermarket options for two of mine (I only needed two and didn't want to buy a whole set) Two big washers (from John Deere dealer. You can check around, duff used to make a kit for older trucks.

Do u have a list of what you got by chance

Those two washers, i measured my old mount for the tube length.

Bolts and big, thick washers from the hardware store. There's no reason to get crazy, grade 8 is fine, course thread is fine, I'd be comfortable with grade 5 even. The factory style fasteners kind of lock the bushings to the body mounts which is nice but not necessary for our purposes.

Okay perfect. Thank you so much!
