My 95 b2300 just recently won't go above 2500 in gear. It rev's to redline with no issue out of gear. Just replaced fuel filter, fuel lines, and had a recent tune up. Truck runs fine just won't let me go above 2500 rpm in gear. Never had this issue...any recommendations?

Timing issue? Hows the compression?

If either were plugged, one would think the limitation would happen in gear or in park. My thinking on it might be wrong though.

Manual or automatic

Could be the REV limiter in computer is seeing reverse of what it should
In "neutral" you should only be able to REV engine to 3,000rpms, thats the REV limiter, so no Red Line REVs

On a manual REV limiter is on the clutch pedal switch and speedometer
On automatic its on the gear shift switch on drivers side of transmission

Recent timing belt change? If so the cam timing could be off a tooth and it would cause that.

Shouldn't that also effect compression?

I haven't had the timing belt changed. The weird thing is sometimes it will run strong with absolutely no issues. Other times it has the problem right away. Seems like once the motor warms up enough the issue starts. 1st gear never really has the issue it's 2nd through 5th. When the problem happens at around 2200 rpm the truck will start to hesitate and lose power. If you give it gas it will struggle worse. If I let off the pedal just a little bit it will find some power. Plugs, plug wires, fuel filter, and fuel lines have all been replaced

Check the fuel pressure.
