05 Ranger TDI conversion

Ah, ok. I was just wondering because in the stock 3.0 location the starter interferes with the AHU oil pump.

A/C compressor

Hi, I am looking to swap an ALH to a 4.0SOHC manual. Will your accessory belt setup work with ALH

Thank you,

No, the injector pump is also on that side of the ALH so you cant move the accessories up with our bracket.
Our engine adapter and mounts would work though.

Thanks
Randy

ev1....both 4.0 flywheels?

the older style should be perfect. a good upgrade

Our 4L adapter uses a 3L flywheel and clutch due to crank pattern conflict with the TDI on both 4L patterns.
The 3L clutch can handle anything that a moderately built TDI can put out.
If you built a wild TDI then South Bend has a 3L clutch that will handle that to. (I now have a full 4L kit that uses the stock 4L flywheel)

What would be a good option to include an AC compressor with the ALH built.

Thanks

I believe there was a Passat? that had the A/C compressor on the passenger side but down low.
We did start to design a high mounted, passenger side A/C mount for the ALH but just got too busy to finish it. Maybe in a month or two when I get caught up on orders.

You sure do nice clean work :icon_thumby:

The fellow who bought the TDI Ranger came back today so we could take some measurements for another project.
He said he is getting about 8L/100km for fuel economy and very happy with that.

For those that don't speak Metric :)

8L/100km = 8 Liters per 100 kilometers = 29.4MPG

Almost ready to fire up.
A bit of wiring and a couple more rad hoses.
Beautiful build, question sir, I am about to start a swap myself and was wondering, do you just cut out what you don't need out of the Ranger wiring harness? Thanks
