What did you do to your Ranger today? (Part Deux!)

I WASHED IT AND CLEANED THE INTERIOR!!!!!!

So many smells lost forever...

Took the 2011 on a rescue mission to help a buddy out with his 1990 F-150. Nothing I could do to fix it but I did help him get it towed with my AAA membership. It looks like the shift interlock rod in the steering column broke (I think that’s what it’s called). The gear selector can move now without the key in the ignition and there is not return spring action when the key is turned to start. It also looks like the switch cylinder has seen better days. It looked a bit rough when I pulled it out of the column.

Well last night my insomnia kept me awake all night. So I took a sick day, I've been a zombie all day. But I managed to get seat belts remaining trim pieces, radio, seat, fixed the dash grounds, installed radio, got one dash speaker in, wired small off road light that came with truck. Bought materials to build new battery tray but figured being a sleep deprived zombie isnt the best state to weld in. Now I only need to replace engine grounds, reconnect heater core, install visors, install last speaker, run down last bolt on seat, rebuild half rusted away battery tray, install batt. Test electrical systems, reconnect choke cable, clean over spray from windows, install wipers. Wow getting so close, I've been so antsy to drive her. I only drove her the day I bought her, got home and tore her apart, it's been over 2 months I'm so ready. Sorry again no pics plan to post some before and after tomorrow maybe. I'm hoping friday to take a trip to the dump, the bed is overflowing with junk now, than after maybe some new 235-75-15 if I can seek it past the wife.

Here you guys go, some before and after pics

Those are after and before pics... there’s a big difference. Unless you put in a lot of effort to go from nice looking to crappy looking.
Lol ya I didnt notice till it was too late. And I had the bug for a long time, it was just in a dormant phase till I found oa truck worthy of repair. Thanks for the responses everyone, I'm glad others think it turned out nice.

Did you recover the seat or luck out on finding a nice one?

It came with my 85 2x4 I bought 7 years ago. It also had every bit of interior trim. Than between all 3 trucks I had a full set of dash trim in mint condition.

Greased everything that has a zirc fitting today. The two that mount the spring shackles to the hangers have stiffened up already. I need to pick up a grease fitting cleaner tool to clear them out before it becomes a problem. Tractor Supply is the only place local that sells a kit with a hose. I doubt a inexpensive, straight impact tool is going to leave enough room between the bolt and the rear quarter panel to operate it properly.

Your truck has grease fittings? :icon_confused:

There's not a single zirk on my truck...
