i have a 88 ford ranger with 215/75/15 on it .while i m runnin 55mph i m tackin 2.5 rpm is`nt that to high or is that right sounds like the engine is runnin wide open plzz help it has a 345 gear

Nope. Sounds about right. Don't be afraid to let that 2.9 spin. I myself don't use O/D in my 87 and let it spin 3000 RPM at 100kph. It'll do that all day long without complaint and better economy than if in O/D.
