6.0 Powerstroke

How about you have your opinion, others have their opinion... and you stop telling people what they should or shouldn’t do. You bitch and whine about the government “can’t tell me what to do”, “the liberals are trying to push their ways on us”... What are you doing???
Times are changing... cars/truck are expensive and people need a vehicle that can do it all. A 4 door truck is WAY more versatile to a family then a regular cab.
Who gives a shit how long the bed is, as long as it does the job the OWNER needs it to do! I stress the OWNER because you can’t seem to comprehend that it’s not your decision as to what someone else’s vehicle should be. We’ve had this argument before when you told me what I should do with MY ‘79.
FACT of the matter is my crew cab short bed f150 was more capable of doing “truck things” than any Ranger I’ve ever owned. It could carry more weight, it could tow more, I could put more dirt or mulch in the bed, it could carry 9 cubic feet more cargo than a Ranger 7’ bed, my quad fit in the bed, all while being able to carry 6 people.
Everyone jumps my ass just cause i have an opinion that differs from the norm. And i dont even remember what you did with your 79 but excuse me for thinking that we should preserve classic stuff and enjoy it as is instead of hacking shit up making it basically a classic shell riding on new hardware.

Whatever, its your truck, buy i can voice my opinions about it.

@rusty ol ranger
I don't think it's so much that you have your own opinions that gets under peoples skin. I think it's more in the way you express those opinions. It doesn't really bother me, but I'm pretty thick skinned and opinionated too. Others may take it differently.

For the record, I'd like to find an old '78-'79 F-150 in decent condition to restore, I loved those trucks. I'd prefer it to be a short box though. Just really don't have a need for a long box 99% of the time. If I was a full time farmer, rancher, contractor, etc. I might see it differently. There's no way I'd give up my '17 to have one though.

You ABSOLUTELY can have and voice your opinion... it’s even welcomed sometimes. You just can’t stop. You keep telling people “this is the way it’s always been, this is the only way it can be!”
Your way is not the only way... it’s just another way.

Hey!

when I want your opinion, I will give it to you!

It has nothing to do with you having an opinion that's different.

The problem is pervasively claiming your opinion as objective fact. Nobody cares that you want something different than they do in a truck. All of us have different wants and needs. Nobody cares that you like carburetors. A lot of us like old trucks, and a lot of us like tinkering on them no matter what size they are or what fuel system is on them. But loudly proclaiming your own perspective as being right rather than an opinion gets old in a hurry. And you've done it for what - 20 years now?

We all know opinions are like ***holes... I don’t want to hear yours.
I heard it that this way: opinions are like ***holes, everyone has one and it usually stinks.

That’s another option... either works.

I dont mean to have my opinions come ofF as im trying to state them as facts. Me calling a 5.5 ft bed worthless, atleast from my viewpoint, could not be viewed as a fact unless you yourself are taking it as fact.

I say my opinions...how you view/process them is on you.

If you say 'a 5.5 foot bed is worthless', that's stating it as a fact.

If you say 'a 5.5 foot bed would be worthless for me', that's an opinion.

See the difference?

It's not about how we process what you said. It's up to you as the speaker to be responsible for your own words.

It’s also the fact that you just won’t stop. How many times do you have to push your idea of what you think a truck is on everybody. Not Everyone agrees... and that’s ok. But stop trying to change everyone’s mind, it’s not going to happen. State your opinion, explain why, then move on.

Strictly rhetorical question -

If a truck had a 6.0 engine, and an 8 foot bed, but drum brakes, would that make it perfect? :p

Just yanking your chain!!!!:icon_rofl:
