Coronavirus

saw a big pallet of face masks in a local national chain store today

the friggin' things were made in China :thefinger:

I'm still using (occassionally) the same dust mask I found in my tool box back in March.

Well it's official now, we are all doomed.

How do I know?

It's apparently bad enough that even this guy put on a mask...

It was nice knowing everyone.

Yeah, it's over now. Better luck next time.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I plan to survive the end of the world. If I don't live to be older than at least two of my grandparents I'll be pissed, and I'm already older than my maternal grandmother was when she died.

The mask is to protect others from the wearer's expelled droplets, Trump is tested every day so he's unlikely to have or expose anyone to the virus. I suspect he's doing it because he's taken such a beating in the press for not wearing one. He's going to get (justifiably) thrashed for giving his buddy a get out of jail free card so the mask will be out of the news quickly.

I think Trump accepting science and wearing a mask is a much bigger surprise to everyone than him letting a batman cartoon supervillain out of prison...

He's not accepting science...he was basically told to wear the mask...he was going into a hospital where injured vets, and vets with underlying illnesses were, and they were very open to illness.
Had he not wore a mask the fallout would have been out of this world, and he knew it.
He still believes in voodoo and his "superior intellect", science plays no role in his decisions.

I am kind of done with Trump and his Covid-19 ideas, they do make funny news stories though

I prefer him to stick with business stuff and some politics

This is the Trump's family idea for getting rid of the virus...
Eat plenty of beans and poop the virus out...
They even tell you which beans provide the best poop protection...

Isn't it against the law for someone to use a political office to promote a product?

No, it isn't

Its more of a "rule" thats up to interpretation, and depends alot on payment

President seen using a certain brand of golf clubs IS an endorsement but its fine
First Lady wear a certain designer's clothing is allowed

Saying he eats "good ol' boys baked beans" is fine, if thats what he eats

As long as there is no "direct payment" for it, at that time

There are plenty of politicians that got VERY GOOD jobs after leaving office, for the things they did IN office
