Replacing my Dana hybrid 28 to a Dana 35 in my 94 ranger. Found a 94 explorer at the local pick and pull. Besides axle shafts and the actual diff. What all do I need to grab? Will the 35 bolt right in or do I need the beams as well?

Is it true the expo 35 is wider than the ranger one?

Thanks Bobby,

Petro, I think the difference in width is if you have a actual Dana 28 but I’m not 100% sure. I’ve got the hybrid that’s basically a 35 housing with a Dana 28 stuffed in.

Not that my tape has indicated.

Wms wise.

Factory wheel offset has variance.

But...the later knuckles have better brakes.

Explorers certainly did get a upgrade for those years......

If your into girly sla.

The Explorer calipers and brackets from those years fit the Ranger knuckles tho.

I did the explorere 8.8 with disk brakes swap 5 months ago. I got all new rotors and calipers all the way around. So I'll wait on the brake upgrade. Its stopping pretty good on 32s right now. Figure I'll spend that money on new jeep locking hubs.
