I just recently picked up a nice 2007 Mustang. Has the R Spec spoiler and hood scoop, otherwise just a really nice running 4.0 V-6. Good daily driver. 20 inch black rims, different exhaust and head lights. More to come.

So the Lightning has resumed garage queen status once again. Still keepin the old 98 Ranger for bad weather duty, as usual. Had it 20 years come January. I'll keep it long before I'l lever buy some sparky vehicle.

This thread sucks! There is no worse debate than "Elon fanboi" vs "Vehicle tech peaked in 1985" guy. Both camps are super annoying.

EVs are great. They're cleaner than an ICE even considering the battery manufacturing process and powerplants that use fossil fuels. Tailpipe emissions are harmful to humans and the environment. They save tons of time and money for the owners and driving without the NVH of an ICE becomes very natural very quickly. They work great for the majority of people and how they use their vehicles.

That said, EVs aren't right for everybody. They're not yet as convenient as an ICE for long distances. They're expensive, and Tesla as a company is seriously sketchy.

This truck looks dreadful. It looks like it does because they don't want the cost or hassle of paint or stamping machines and tooling. They talk up things like strength and how it's kind of bulletproof but those are side effects of their primary motivation which was making a vehicle cheaper to manufacture. Fanbois will lap it up because it looks like something from a sci fi movie from their childhood, but that's just the sales pitch. It's just another company selling a product that they've cheapened, and the consumer is worse off of it. Every other manufacturer can be profitable with normal construction but Tesla has to reimagine the entire manufacturing process just to make money on their vehicles.

Tesla says the truck is 2-3 years away, but it's Tesla so you can probably add atleast 6 months to that. It's going to come to market around the same time as the Rivian truck, and fully electric f150 and Silverado models. Which will have actual dealer support and aren't likely to have the frequent quality issues that have plagued Tesla thus far. Giving this company your money as an interest free loan for the next few years seems wildly foolish to me.

It peaked in the middle 70s thank you much.

There is 0 reason whatsoever to have vehicles that do everything for you and can play youtube on the touchscreen.

Jump in, put the key in, crank it, find some tunes with the thumbdial and enjoy the fucking ride.

The helplessness of modern society is sickening.

They didn’t get the styling perfect until ‘79.
Of what?

After 79 stuff looked like shit for the most part.

Except trucks. They didnt start going to hell till tbe mid-late 90s.

Meh, I am going to go with peaking in ‘85.

Totally objective with no personal sentiment of course.

I find my method more effecient

Approch vehicle, get in, put in drive. Car is preheated or cooled, it immediately starts playing the last thing I was listening to.

Not helpless but maybe considered lazy. If I have to do something more than a few times, I'm going to automate it

Depends on what source you are using.

Both my trucks are rarely running “radio”. Usually off a USB stick.
