Automotive technology you miss.

I agree with the paper manuals. I had to go digital with my girlfriend’s clown car (2014 Nissan Versa Note) and the 2019 Ranger. Thankfully, I was able to find a downloadable copy for the Versa and had to by the DVD for the Ranger. I’m not happy about it but bo choice is given.

My 2017 F-250 has a hardcopy manual. I bought it used, so I don't know if the PO paid extra for them or not, but I was also able to download a PDF copy of the owner's manual. I think you have to set up an owner account first though. Also downloaded the manual for my 2013 Focus. It has a hardcopy manual too. Neither cost me a dime. For a lot of stuff, I prefer the PDF copies. Very easy to search and find things without flipping through a bunch of pages, but I do like having the paper manual in the glove box.

I think you misunderstood or perhaps I did. My understanding is they were talking about factory service manuals.

I do have an owners account and digital copies of the owners manual for all my vehicles as a convenience so I don’t have to go out to the vehicle to look up what I want.

I have every manual and brochure that came with my ranger including the brochure for the original Firestone's which gave up the ghost a while back so ye......I miss manual windows being a option and I still think they could make a vent window that's safe and aerodynamic also miss single cab trucks as they're dying.....just think of what the new ranger would look like if it was a single cab? I would love a single cab ranger, oh does anyone remember when ford made that extension on single cab f150s? Fat man's cabs were cool and I still wish they existed....that's my rant for tech I miss rn....

My bad, I totally missed that. Reading comprehension is not my strongest quality.

Half the people here are saying owners manual, the other half are saying service manual... big difference.
I could give 2 shits about the owners manual... I don't need a book to tell me how to roll the window down or turn the wipers on.

Yeah. But that page with the fuse block diagram can be pretty handy. And how often do we see questions around here about "what kind of oil should I put in ______?"

It's not auto related but I miss hanging up angrily on the old school phones. The person on the other end could hear you slamming the phone and they knew you were pissed! Anyone else got tech that you miss that's not auto related?

:threadjacked:. ?????

Yeah, because fords to cheap to print a sticker and put it on the god damn fuse box cover.
I refuse to answer the "what kind of oil" question. Check your owners manu..... damn. :icon_rofl:

I miss laser discs. It was so much fun have a CD the size of a record, that you had the flip over 30 minutes into the movie. Then change discs when you hit the 1 hour mark. Oh yeah... be very careful, it's got info on both sides... don't scratch it.

Yes, I was talking factory service manual. I buy them at yard sales whenever I see them, don't care if Ford or not. I seem to be able to use them sooner or later.

I miss bench seats.... in cars lol. I had a Nissan truck that had a neutral override button for the clutch so you could start the truck without pressing in the clutch. Not sure what the purpose of it was but it was handy. I DO NOT like tail gates that are "soft open" they are way too slow for my speed. Soon we will be missing manual transmissions because those are becoming obsolete any more. I wish they would stop putting batteries in areas like fenders and bumpers.... Good luck starting a dead car off the little bolts that are rusted out that they provide. Storage is ridiculous anymore... Can you even fit a slim toolbox under the front seat on a new ranger? I wish manufactures would stop by an RV manufacture and get ideas for storage. RV's use every inch for storage. I've always wondered why they don't use the wasted space between the sheet metal on the bed sides, bumpers and on the front fenders. Could easily add storage compartments in these areas.

Okay but although mine has a "owner's manual" it still has so much service shtuff that has allowed me to service Old Green over the years....and I got your point between owner and service manuals, one is brief with facts and the other goes into very detailed information and data....but my ranger owners manual is much better and more informational than my gramps 2017 f150...
