@85_Ranger4x4 , Awesome pics! Loved your truck BTW. And I just realized you came from IOWA!!!! The 5oh sounds fantastic too.

I wish I could have stayed longer to actually chat with some of you guys.

Thanks! Your new toy looked pretty neat too, I never caught it running/moving though.

It went way too fast...

Being relatively new doesn't mean much though. Did you also have your flywheel re-surfaced, and did you wipe it down with solvent before installing the clutch disc? Was it a parts mix-n-match when the trans, flywheel, and clutch was installed?

I'm not trying to rag on your mods at all. I just don't believe that a simple intake change and a different engine management system will make enough extra power on a little 2.9 to smoke a new clutch that quickly. I follow similar mods on the 5.0 and know what the various intake, throttle body, and EEC swaps do for performance, and that can be easily estimated with the 2.9 as well.

I wonder about full engagement pressure, mixing parts, clutch disc installed backwards, etc..

It'll be interesting to see what's up once it's all apart.

really? a stock 2.9 off of the showroom floor will drive through the clutch making a putrid smoke cloud....

we did it test driving a bronco 2 back in 87.....

None of mine ever would, and I drove and wheeled them offroad for over 10 years. Or attempted to at least... lmao

I swapped out MANY clutches over those years.

Even when pulling people's rigs out that were way too heavy I'd still never slip or burn up a clutch.

Great off roading here at the 20th year meet...would love to have met you guys, I am quite the distance. Good to see more faces with their trucks. Really glad to Jim behind the wheel again of TRS 2.

He was fun to watch in action.

I’ll have to figure out a way to get the few pics and stuff I got on here. Been a mess this week, got home to no internet. Got it fixed in time for a storm to take out the power. Go figure.

And for the record, I wasn’t sleeping..... :sexe::icon_rofl:

Finally dug the memory card out of my other camera. Here are a few favorites. Thanks, again to @AgPete139 for helping out with the camera.

What?!? Doesn't everybody have a giant Ford Ranger flag?

Tuning it is easy. All you have to do is calculate the cube of the differential of the cylinder volume divided by the square root of the force your foot applies to the accelerator pedal.....

This looks like a good group to follow. What could possibly go wrong?
IMG_0312.jpg

Are you sure this is the way to Wal-Mart?
IMG_0323.jpg

Drive a Ranger down that? That's just Plum Crazy!
IMG_0340.jpg

It's easier this way.
IMG_0346.jpg

What do you mean "The Jeep that did it had bigger tires."? It looked easy.

This old girl still has what it takes.

I can do it backwards!

They should learn how to pave their roads around here.
IMG_0389.jpg

Pretty trucks can 'wheel, too.

Hangin' out at the concrete playground.
IMG_0417.jpg

This is how we position the truck for squirrel hunting. You can see the trees without straining your neck.

Late afternoon pose by the lake.
IMG_0429.jpg

Jim taking one of the more difficult ways out.
IMG_0431.jpg

Will climb over anything for pizza and beer.

It is kinda crude and choppy, only editing was taking out the long pauses while we waited for traffic to clear.

@97RangerXLT @Mightyfordranger @fastpakr @Jim Oaks

@PetroleumJunkie412 was behind me thru all this, he did have to stop to reconfigure his more street oriented intake setup before the deep water but otherwise he got along pretty good for having a stock truck.

Yeah sorry about the first trail being kinda rutted and muddy. I had only been there once before. And I was with my buddy in a big dodge on 40s. That's where we went. I didnt remember it being bad. I wasn't worries myself but I wasn't sure how the stock guys were gonna go. Lol

And we gave you -so- much time to develop your route plan as the group leader.

It made for good video if nothing else and I don’t think anyone got stuck or broke anything :icon_thumby:
