PlumCrazy's Build

was going back through this thread looking for info on the blower setup and noticed that all of the pics hosted on photobucket are blurred because photobucket is stupid, thought it was because it was hosted 3rd party so I logged in over there (first time in about a decade, haha) and tried searching your username, still no good.

I've always loved this build. So clean and well thought out, yet still wheeled hard. I wanted to build the blue 94 that's in my avatar like you had done yours, but sold that and continued building my 91. Maybe my next one will be built as cleanly as yours

This truck was a good learning experience for sure. I did a lot of trial and error with this truck. My next rig will be a little different and hopefully built the way i want the first go around.

i was bummed to have missed you....that thing is a beast.
I caught a glimpse of the infamous rattle trap thing you call a ranger on my way out. I had just finished showing a random Jeeper the importance of a death jack while putting his coil spring back in.lol MFer was blocking the whole driveway trying to "flex" enough to get his rear coil back in.

I honestly kind of fell off of the grid when i was doing the blower build. I was in the process of moving and getting slammed at work. Now Im in the process of settling into a our new house, getting married, and still getting slammed at work.

Talked to Jim about you. Need to.pick your brain at some point about your blower.

Ask away. I'll answer the best I can.haha. My memory is fading by the day it seems.lol I'll be out beating the Ranger again this weekend, so I should have some updates next week.

It happens to us all, haha. Life happens, I know the feeling.
What size pulley are you running and how many psi are you getting with that pulley? I'm looking for about 5 to 6 psi but boost is a somewhat new field for me. Making an adapter and moving/ extending wiring harnesses aren't and issue though.

I want to say 2.375ish. 6-7 psi at anything over half throttle and 2000+rpm

I don't recall seeing any photos of the intake the blower sits on. Do you have any? I'm assuming you built it yourself.

I am using the BBK lower plenum. It is a two piece unit. Bolt the lower half to the fuel rail, the upper half to the bower, then mate them on the truck. Its probably the most important part of the BBK kit, everything else is pretty easy to build yourself.

Was using the Ranger to tug stumps out this summer when something I have feared for a long time finally happened.....damage to the discontinued "Severe Duty" bolt in Ford application Saginaw pump. It sheared the shaft off in the pump.

It sat for a while before I drew up an adapter and had a buddy 036Speed machine it for me. Got me back in business and now I can use an off the shelf PSC Saginaw pump and simply press the adapter on and swap the rear fitting.

Got it back together just in time to drag an old office trailer down some old logging trails for a buddy to use as a temporary cabin on his new property.

Felt good having the old turd up and running, so I threw on the running shoes, two good mirrors, a new tail light, and pressed the rear driveshaft half straight. Plan to put some street miles on before winter for once.

No updates on the 4x4....but I did drag home another Ranger. Plan is to throw drop beams under it and flip the rear axle once I get a good running 2.3 back into it.....maybe play with a TurboCoupe setup down the road.

The turbo coupe 2.3 has been a dream of mine for quite some time! That sounds like such a fun engine. If youwereon the west coast I have seen one on CL for a while.
