the Lawn Mower thread.

Get a donkey. It'll eat some grass and weeds, keep away unwanted predators and.... When the neighbors talk about that a$$ that lives up the street, they might not be talking about you.

Win, win, win

Goats are awesome for that as well.

You can learn a lot from goats.

My mower ran today... just in time because it sure looks like more rain. It really needs to be cut again... it was pretty out of hand.

I tried cross referenceing the numbers too. nothing. So i pulled the old one for a side by side comparison and they are very different. The bolt holes where dead on point tho.
28027
28030

the old one was very rusty and so was the contact surface on the flywheel.
28028
28029

so after a wire wheel treatment for that and some emery paper on the magneto. I replaced the old one, set the gap and....
nothing.
dead battery.
So, after a quick charge.
BAM. ?
Started right up and runs smoother than ever and I mowed the whole yard. Now to see the return policy on unused and possibly wrong parts. IF it is the right part i might just keep it for future use, but I'm cheap and can clean rust for free.?
I broke two fins off the fan on top of the flywheel. Hope it don't overheat now.lol
So thanks @85_Ranger4x4 and anybody else that helped me. I couldn't have done this without ya'lls help.

Looks great! That invisible belly mower let's you see the classic lines of the tractor better.

I tried to start mine today... battery was dead. So I fired up the grill and cooked a London broil, made some mashed potatoes and peas for lunch instead of mowing the lawn.

The invisible belly mower got dropped and pressure washed ahead of getting torn apart next week for cross-shaft bearings. The shaft has been riding on the attaching frame, and I don't think it is supposed to do that.

Want to paint a truck while you're at it??

If you want to bring it out here and do the prep work, I'll spray some paint.

....damnit. I may have to take you up on that.

Ok. I like spraying, I don't have the time or patience to prep a whole truck right now.

You need to wait until I get mine back together though, there isn't enough room in my shop to paint until I get it out of there.

I dont have any pictures anymore that I know of but in high school, I took a toro garden tractor frame and put a 400cc Yamaha street bike engine on it. Unfortunately I use to lite of a roller chain and it would break. I took apart the transaxle welded the gears together and welded a sproket on the out side face of the "ring" gear then cut the mounting points off the case and bolted it back together it moved had no brakes and the shift was some welded flat stock with a bolt and flat stock piece to squeeze the clutch.

That is just a good looking old mower.

Thanks. I like it well enough.

I gotta start getting the plow ready soon. It needs a lot of work before winter.

Hmm, guess ill play...

Heres the old yazoo i bought. This thing is friggin nuts. 60in deck with a old 23hp cast iron opposed kohler. Nothing slows it down. In this video i literally had to stop and back up because there was so much infront of it i lost traction....

Well after several attempts at trying to figure out if I received the correct part or not I guess I'll just keep the Magneto and hope it works, if I ever need it. Called the company that I ordered it from and they gave me B&S's #, the girl on the phone knew NOTHING, and offered to send me a PDF of their parts list. Hell yeah, send me that. Got a PDF of a power washer that I do not own. LOL SMH FML??? After talking with the people at EReplacements.com(?) I think I have the right part, just a newer version. She gave me a list of part#'s that are replaced with the one they sent me, the problem is, I don't have a part # for the original Magneto. B&S, again, had no idea about anything. So, I have 45 days from purchase date to let them know if I want to return it and get refunded, minus shipping. For me that is more trouble than its worth, so Ill just keep the Magneto on the shelf, until I finally need it, right next to the solenoid that is still in the package.
