A quick vent about word choice.

The point was, they are not the same thing. Use the correct term for what it is you are talking about.

It's called soda because of the sodium salts that are found in naturally carbonated water. No one knows whys its called pop.

It's called pop because that's how we were raised. We (I especially) are raised by everyday blue collar Americans, not grammar-technical English teachers. This is a forum, so if you can't deal with someone abbreviating things or calling something other than YOUR preferred terms then that's YOUR problem. It's called lingo, deal with it.

If someone calls it soda or Coke (not neccessarily meaning Coca-Cola) or cola... I know you ain't from around here.

They aren't MY words, I didn't make them.... It's industry terminology. I'm was raised just as blue collar as the next guy.

You should start a thread about how nit-picky some people can be over stupid stuff that everyone already understands.

When someone asks for coke around here they generally don't want a beverage...

That's what you are doing right now isn't it?

well now that all the language usage dust has settled,,,I'm gonna get in my truck and motor on down the hiway.

So you've made a point to air your frustrations about a word being used -precisely- as it's defined in the dictionary and frequently used throughout the industry?

Nope, you missed it. Take another lap. The frustration was words or terminology being used incorrectly.

After I ran out of shits to give, I tried to pepper in some humor however, I might not be the funniest guy in the room.

This horse still seems to be breathing, guess I'll keep my beating stick handy.

Except that the words/terminology you claim are incorrect, you're actually wrong about.
