flux core and rusty sheet metal.

yeah.....we do that.:D

i buy the insurance on the tires.... cause you have to.

Lol. Replacing the floor pan would’ve sucked a little less with a better welder. The Harbor Freight special is a bit of a turd.

I actually bought the wheels and tires second hand from a guy in PA (got a hell of a deal on them). Having a warranty would’ve been nice though! Haha.
I finally got around to picking up a new spare this past weekend. Found a used KO2 to throw on. It doesn’t match, but it’s the right size and ittle get me home.

even with used tires...if they are pretty new and high in 32nds, discount will insure them after they inspect them....

whether or not its worth it depends on costs actual.

i had a set of bfg with less then 1 k i got for trade....they were too big for the guys truck...

i bought and used the warranty twice because they belted out on me...they get 25-30k and fall apart on me...not a fan anymore. that was like 8 months of driving then.

hell the ones on the shop truck wasted the door and rocker...i put msr,s on that....after the blizzard and ice storm today i am glad they are on there.

i welded up all kinds of crap while it was raining on me....flux core aint so bad for that...

Really? That’s good to know. I’ll have to keep that in mind for my next set!

WARNING, this post contains no "mod" related content, just some off-road pictures... lol

So this past weekend I went to Haspin Acres in south east Indiana with a few guys I go to school with. Haspin is 750 acres of hills, creeks and woods. They have miles of trails that are minimally marked and maintained. They also have a lot of clay, that turns into a greasy mess when it rains. In fact, we almost bailed on the trip because of all the rain and snow they got last week. But, we decided to take a chance and spend a weekend playing around in the mud. It rained on and off most of the day Saturday, but Sunday was absolutely beautiful.

There were 4 of us in total in 3 rigs (my ranger, a 2012 JK, and a '95 geo tracker). This was the maiden voyage for the tracker.

We ran a few of the creek beds first, as they were some of the few places that weren't covered in 6" of mud.

Muddy Ranger (a common theme for the weekend).

The mighty Geo Tracker (or "Geo Tractor"). This little turd was gettin it all weekend.

My rustic, open-air, sleeping arrangements. I didn't want to sent a tent up in the mud, so I pulled the truck up under this pavilion thing and slept in the bed. It was actually pretty comfortable. Granted, it was only in the mid to low 40s at night.

The weather greatly improved for Sunday; 60F and Sunny

Stopping to check out the trail ahead (we ended up finding a work around for a pretty aggressive hill).

We stopped for lunch on the trail. The long wheel based Ranger can be a handful sometimes, but the storage space is second to none haha

"...UP"

Only casualty for the weekend: the silhouette license plate bracket. I was a little worried it was gonna be in harms way with the new bumper. Guess I got my answer... haha

Airing up as some late afternoon clouds rolled in.

The truck probably had a couple hundred pounds of clay caked on it. I spent 30 minutes at the car wash and got most of the topside washed off. I haven't touched the undercarriage yet... that should be fun haha

I'd love for you to build me one of those rear bumpers & tire swings for my '03 Fleetside Ranger!

By the way, I have the same front bumper, but with the bull bar/light mount and it's quite an impressive bumper :)

Can you still buy the front coilover parts to get rid of the torsion springs?
