92 vs 93

i wondering what is different between a 1992 ranger and a 1993 ranger. now obviously the bodys are different but i was wondering if the suspension, motor mounts, frame, cross members, are they the same or are they different?

All should be the same didn't change until 98 model year.

Wiring and a few little things changed in 95. 92/93 split should have minimal differences.

just as adsm08 said the majority of stuff is the same or close on 92 and 93. 95 is when they changed some electrical stuff and they changed the brakes to the 2 pistion bolt on calipers instead of the stupid slide pins

what is the difference between a 4x4 and a 2x4, now i know the whole suspension is different but what about the frame and cross members i'm looking to do a motor swap and want an old cheap truck for mock up. you can find rangers for sale and scrap them to make your money back. i have a junk 1991 4x4 but want to do the motor swap in a 2x4. i would like to mock it up see how much work it is and if i lose interest i'm not out a ton of money.

The engine cross member is slightly different between the 4wd and 2wd. Other than that the engine mount locations are in the same place I believe.

If you can fit your swap in a 4x4 chassis, it'll drop right in a 2wd chassis.

The 4x4 has a massive engine crossmember to house the TTB and take torque from the driven axle, where the 2wd has a slimmer one, just enough to hold a set of I-beams, and weaker because the only force on it is from the brakes, which that force is transfered to the frame through the radius arms.
