Kyle M's Ranger Rebuild

Looking good, Kyle!

SVT

For what is worth, I care, I like your truck and the pictures of your outings.

I would think that catching 8 to 10 feet of air is what might be bending the tie rod.

So freaking sweet! Your truck has to be one of my favorite rangers

looks tits. And by tits I mean boobies. Which are good.

Love this build!! awesome truck!

I dont know if you remember my B2 from Snofari a few years ago but I didnt have rear glass but had a local boat shop make me some snap in canvas covers that attatched nicely to those pinch welds. You could do a clear one for rear window to at least stop some of the cold air from blowing past your face.

Thanks guys!

I had a good trip this past weekend, 4 days in Canada doing the Loonie Run, good stuff!

I don't have any pictures uploaded yet, but ill post some later when get get to my computer(at work now)

I managed to break a 14 bolt shaft, then cut 2 tires, ripped a brake line off, broke my winch cable, bent my new tie rod lol ( maybe driving by brail isn't the best for em??) and a few new dents in the fenders, but it'll survive!

Thanks to some good buddies, I was able to wheel the whole time and still drive it on the trailer.

Hate to drag this up from way back but when you were on the inboarded 64s were they stock leaves are a lift one

Ok, thinking I may start working on this again, looking sad outside under a tarp.

List of whats to come....

New highsteer, MetroFab special
Steering pump mods
New front drive shaft
Cage work
Maybe body and paint work
Needs a new fan, one quit last year, other still works

Might take it out this weekend, so maybe I'll get some pics

Figured I'd make an update, help my ambition

Fixed my front driveshaft shaft tonight, actually, made a new one. Used 1410 Spicer joints, a super duty slip yoke, and a new weld in yoke. I used 2",1/4 wall dom so maybe I won't twist it up like the last one out of 2" .120 wall

And this is the twisted up yoke, you can see how it egged the tube, the joint was rotated quite a bit.

Tomorrow I think I'll mod my Saginaw pump to get more volume and psi.

Gonna use this as a guide

Kyle, you can also get a power steering pump from a 2000 powerstroke. It has a higher output rating due to the hydroboost, and its less than $60. It'll bolt right in place of the 5.0 mustang style pumps...

Got my cage work done, new windshield area, now that I don't have glass in it, I'm able to make it look not so stupid, I'm happy with how it came out

Also got my ram mount, front truss made.. Should work nice.

Here it is with the ram mounted

Just gotta tie up the new hoses somehow.

Made a set of ram heim mounts also

Not sure I posted this, but I made a set of high steer arms also. They utilize the factory tie rod mount so it's in double shear the bolts will be replaced with studs.
