Hey all,
I have a 1994 Explorer, are 95 and newer explorer rear ends disc and are they spring over or spring under like mine...thinkin about doin a swap for discs at the same time of doin the spring over....any suggestions or advice is welcome...
Thanks
Nick

You can swap the disc's onto your 94 axle aswell. 95+ will be disc brake spring under

could i buy the brake assembly at say advance or napa and do it that way or would i have to get a axle from one newer??
Thanks

I supose you could get them at a parts store ( I priced them out through the dealership I work at and it was pretty steep) Its cheaper to grab them from the wreckers tho(just the backing plates, get new calipers and rotors and lines)

alright....what was it from the dealership...just wondering...any real work need to be done like welding or is it all bolt in????
Thanks
Nick

Its a bolt on, remove the drum brake backing plates and install the disc brake backing plates. You will need to make something to attach the ebrake cables to the trucks.

I got a good Sploder 8.8 for $100 with springs, grabbing a used one would be a lot easier/cheaper than making your own.
