is this guy on crack?

But its the rare and highly desirable two wheel drive red 96 SINGLE OWNER Ranger with over 300K miles. Proven reliability can't be beat. You know and it probably has some MATCHING SERIAL NUMBERS too.

You know how us folks in the rust belt some times spend a ton of money for a rust free desert vehicle? Maybe it goes the other way too, the desert people get bored with only bodywork from running into stuff and burned off paint and want a challenging project from time to time. :icon_idea:

I think he added an extra "0" on the price by accident...

That might still be a too-generous offer. And I'll at least pay scrap value for anything.

For that, I might offer him $20, and I'll pay title transfer.

He's just trying to make a buck or two, gosh, give him a break:icon_rofl:

He may have a plan to "restore" it. Obviously some sentimental attachment. If he offers it for sale but doesn't get his price, he can tell whomever is pressuring him that he is trying. :D

Well, you know you can't put a price on memories.....

Oh, wait, I guess you can and its $1500!

Seems a bit more methy than crack but then he did manage to post it up with some clarity, theres that.

that truck is easily worth... $350 for scrap weight alone.

a disassembled FOOKED 2.3?

It's potentially nothing more than an organ donor and recycleable metals

a couple years ago I paid $500 for a truck worse than that one, It had a seized DOHC 2.3 engine and an auto trans that could not be tested (Dead engine)

But the truck had a cherry 7foot bed and a smooth skinned Heavy duty cable company topper with tool boxes on either side behind the full length side doors

I kept the bed and the topper, threw another bed on it and hauled it to the scrapper and collected my $445 for it as scrap (Prices were high at the time)
So I got a perfect bed and a really nice contractors topper for $55, I was happy, still am.

I plan to use the bed for a trailer I'm building, the topper lives on my coal bin.
(on another 7foot bed I have in my yard)

no way in hell that's worth 350! I towed a guy's full sized chevy station wagon that he filled the gas tank and oil with water, then completely filled with random chain and steel scrap from his work, the suspension was completely bottomed out, and he only got 450 out of it! scrap price is low, that is worth maybe 150 scrap!

my f-250 I think was worth 300, and it had a 460 in it
