Dome light upgrade

I have a 1988 ranger and I am trying to make an led light for my dome light. I put 3 high visibility led in a row on a bread board but only 2 are lit. I am assuming it is not 12v. Each led is 4v max.

What did I do wrong?

Sounds like you might need to look into LED driver circuits.

LEDs themselves can't be hooked straight to 12 volts, even putting them in series (which infact rarely is it ever 12 volts, but rather 12.6 volts, to as high as 14.4-15 volts when the engine is running).
LEDs operate via current, not voltage. A driver circuit maintains a steady current for the LED(s) over a range of voltage inputs.

Yeah, how much...I will get in line as well if they're not too bad...as a matter of fact, I'll take 3 of them - 2 for my Bronco and 1 for my bro...let us know how much.

I normally sell them for 40$ but i recently orderd in bulk supplies so i now have some wiggle room on the price and the more you order the cheaper per unit. Tidmarsh if you want 3 i can do 75 for 3 of them and gungfudan i can do 30$ for one.

I have a board like pony pictured. Got it from canadian tire. Seen em at a lot of places.

$15 and has an adapter to plug into the old bulb socket. 2 minutes to install.

Yah but i use 3 to 5 times the amount of leds on that one board and i warrenty all my stuff for 2 yrs

Mine fills up the entire plastic part of the cover just like it looks like yours does. Had it for 2.5 years and no issue lol.

Not trying to sway people away from buying your stuff, just offering another option.
