My 4wd group became a light bar/pod distributor. We are currently in the process of building brackets for different rigs (rangers included). We will be selling mounting brackets (vehicle specific) light bar packages. We are building the brackets for 1st and 2nd gen rangers today. We are using my ranger as the mock-up rig. Hopefully I will have a link to our website, with pictures on it of my rig, either by today or tomorrow if anyone is interested.

Awesome!
Let me know when you guys get to the 92-97 (aka 87-97) Full size. Actually, I bet the 87-92 Ranger roof rails are very similar. I should have compared them before I scrapped mine.

So jealous of the light bar!!! Makes 10inch bar look like a kids toy...lol Great looking truck by the way. Can't wait to SAS my truck. So much inspiration in this thread.

Went 4 wheeling the other night. I got to try out the light bar.
Love it!!

I have done a lot since I last posted.....
I forgot to take pictures along the way too, but I have a few so here we go.

First off I redid by bumper! It looks way better. The pictures are pretty self explanatory.

Then I started doing the axle swap. The front is still the dana 44, but it has 3/4 ton hubs and brakes.

First the dana 44 change up..... with 38's!!! :icon_bounceblue:

Here are just a few pictures of the rear axle..... I will take more tomorrow on how and where I narrowed it. It is a dana 60 HD with 35 spline axle shafts.

Here are my shock tabs.

Looking great!

The hidden winch and bumper D rings look sick!
But we got to get you some tires that are not so fricken wide lol

You still haven't done something to those rims that you promised me that you would do!!
I love the look of those rims though!

Oh and get some locks on those D rings or they might go bye bye

I was thinking about building a mount for a lightbar exactly how you did. Turned out real good!

Hey thanks!
It was actually pretty quick and easy as well! :icon_thumby:

Okay, so this is how and where I narrowed the axle.

I put a bevel on the axle tube and welded it all the way around. Then I cut a tube (3" x 1/4") in 1/2 and put a peace on top and bottom and welded it up. This picture also shows the shock tabs welded on as well.
You can also see the break line extension peace I added to my original line. I can get a part number it anyone is interested. I think it is the same one as the one used in one of the tech articles.

Um, that's not how it's done. But... It just might hold up, you did reinforce it.

Your supposed to chop the end of the tube off and then weld just the end back on.
