RX8 Build Thread

Didn't it already have an engine cover?

The same guy I got these parts from I inquired about his intake, ignition, rotors and wheels.

Putting an engine cover back on seems to go against the whole concept of a lightweight/minimalist sportscar like the RX-8 doesn't it? Things that have no purpose should be left off!

I think it looks cleaner. I plan on replacing it with a cf version. As well as the battery cover, ecu cover and fuse box cover.

Fair enough! I personally enjoy looking at all of the mechanical things, but I understand not everybody is like that.

A lot of people see my motor and are like wtf is that. The guy at AutoZone said that yesterday.

Don't do things to your vehicle based on what "the guy at AutoZone said". At least without checking here first. :icon_thumby:

Just one more thing to take off if you have to work on it.

It just pushes on at the firewall and sits in 2 holes on the air filter box. It is not that big of a deal really.

Trust me I did not do because of the AutoZone guy. I am trying to create a sleeper out of it. The closer to stock it looks the better. I want them to think 'Oh he only has wheels and a fart can exhaust.' Then I blow their doors off. :shok::3gears: <----That is me shifting at 9k rpm's.

I say drop in a turbo ' d coyote. About the weight of the rotary, but triple the power :D

I am thinking a 20B set up once it is paid off. 3 rotor twin turbo! Now where is that drifting smiley at?!?!?!
