mmblvl5, really? "Be done with it?" Because swapping in a diesel drivetrain is cake walk. At 105 hp and 260 ft-lbs, it's a lot of work for a power mod.
A quicker swap, that is more direct and less of a wiring headache and custom parts fiasco, a 4.0L would be better. At 170 hp and 225 ft-lbs, it's more than enough for a small Ranger.
