I know I saw a thread on here about adding a drain hole on a dana 35. now I can't seem to find it, even with a search.

since I am going to remove the pumpkin to fix my gear oil leak, replacing u-joints, seals, and doing the c-clip eliminater mod in the next few weeks - adding a drain hole would make sense also.

any advise/hints?

I did it to mine...I used just regular 10mm oil pan drain plug that had a rubber o ring seal built into it. I just drilled and tapped to the side of the ring gear.

I did mine so that you pull the bottom "cover" bolt out and it drains through the bolt hole. Drill a hole from the inside of the housing into the bottom bolt hole area (the carrier will need to be removed to do this however). Use a little RTV to reseal the bolt when you reinstall it.
