Ok so i need some serious input here, tommrows my bday and all and my parents asked me what i wanted for it and i siad my vehicles to run good,, well he said he doesnt think he would be willing to fix the jetta cause of how much work its going to need and its a cop magnet,, well the jetta must not want me because today right after i put 87 grade albertsons gas in it it starts running even worse then before, so heres the list of things wrong that need to be fixed on the jetta
1. The camber issue in the front passenger side
2.The first sputtering issue

3. now the new sputtering issue

4. ABS not working
5.grill and bumper need to be replaced same with passenger fender
6. heater core replaced
7. My button that tells me the mpg and **** like that.
8. The short shift issue it doesnt want to go into 5th sometimes
its a VR6 so thats why im having a hard decsion
---------------------------------------------------------------
Now as for the explorer it needs
1. airbags put in
2. Heater controls fixed " only blows through defrost"
3. and the issue why it only gets 15mpg and no its not driver
4.blinker issue fixed
5. abs issue fixed,
6. and torque converter figure out why its not stalling out right away

the explorers got 83000 and the jetta got 135000, the jetta is a 1995 jetta glx

well i spent 4000 on the jetta and dumped another 4000 into it, and the sploder i bought for 3190 and dropped 500 into it

your ac problem my be a vacuum issue. follow your vacuum lines through the fire wall and make sure they are all good with no leaks.
good luck.
O and Happy b-day:icon_cheers:

15 mpg really isnt that bad for a 4.0L...

yeah but when i was driving the morw powerfull sport trac i was still getting better gas mileage, and thanks, theres no issue with the a/c

my 7.3l diesel gets 16mpg.

I would get a mountain bike.:icon_cheers:

I got 18mpg with my 7.3, but we also pay dearly for it. Diesel here is $0.80 more than regular.

Since you've got $$$ into the Jetta, I'd probably just fix that. It's still gonna get better mileage than the sploder, even if you hot rod it. Honestly though 15mpg doesnt sound bad for a sploder. Either that or cut your losses, dump both of them and get your self one solid, reliable rig.
