New record high this morning, gas went up again :pissedoff:

And we are liberating this country for what? We go after Osama, then forget about him and go after Sadam, kill him and his sons, then the terrorist cells, then we want to liberate a country.......all to pay this much for the resources they have?

OK OK, done bitching now.....carry on....nothing to see here folks...move along

You have a point there. If we had the luxury of asking them for an IOU before we took out Saddam's government, then they'd be able to pay us back with oil revenue. Right now we are paying for everything.

(Correction: those of us who work are paying for everything.)

Another thing to consider is that Iraq's oil is an important component to the supply of oil to the entire world. Without it, prices would go up because demand would stay the same while supply would drop.

You don't really believe Osama is still alive, do you?

Sure he is, he is in the Chilean mountains playing crib with Elvis and Hitler. Everyone knows that didn't they?

i just hate how we bassically took over iraq and then gave it back on a silver platter, wht happened to when you gained ground you kept it. if we had kept it we could have kept thier oil for ourselves and squesed china a bit and lowered gas pirces here. But what do i know i have no clue about politics and all that crap.

I've mentioned this before, but did you ever notice that Bush called the Iraq mission Operation Iraqi Liberation? What does that spell out...O.I.L. Bush is largely invested in oil, why wouldn't he want to run the prices up?

Whoever loses a war usually actually wins, the winner gets to pay to rebuild their country for them better than it was before.

Take Germany and Japan for example...

I believe NPR just said it's $130.00, oh what I wish it was 4 hrs ago...
BTW: If we kill all the Iraqi's then we can keep their oil...

We're very spoiled. Gas is still real cheap. Amazingly cheap. I'd consider $10/gal. or more to be expensive.

Umm, it was "Iraqi Freedom."

And you don't think military planners would be so stupid as to encode their "secret agenda" so simply in the code name, eh?

No, our main purpose for going was Osama, that was quickly ignored.

Email your Senators and Congressmen, tell them to drill for our own wherever it is found and build more refineries as needed or you will vote for someone who will.
I do that monthly.
One of the laws of economics is that if the supply of something goes up, the price goes down.

I learned in Social Studies class that Gas going up is actually a good thing, cause the more cash/taxes we pay in, the more rebates...sir explained it somehow i dont know..
But maybe this only applies for Newfie-land?

exactly!our elected officials have demonstrated only to well that there is not going to be any progress on energy independence.grilling oil execs in washington amounts to nothing more than a media circus.good for buying votes, bad for real progress.doesn't accomplish a damn thing!

contact your representitives and tell them to get the hell out of the way and let oil companies explore, drill and build refineries.let windmill farms set up where they are needed, let utilities build nuclear power plants.

we put a man on the moon in 9 years,we can turn this around,we are americans dammit,we can do it!energy independence will kick the economy into high gear and it's high time we headed in that direction.

it starts with us,e-mail these people and do it often!

Or maybe he was a greenie?

Gas Prices Suck, but i still drive to work everyday, not much we can do about it

Bush has nothing to do with the price of oil, no matter how much you would wish it to be and blame everything that happens on the President. He does not have that kind of power. Do you know where we get most of our oil imports?????

Oil closed today at $133.17 a barrel. It jumped 4 bucks today on rumor. shady
