ive been doing some research on leaf spring d44 swaps . i need some ideas for rear mountd shackles. and i have a set of front leaf springs from a 86 sierra so im going to try to use that set . any opinions or advice is a help thanks. there just aint much info for leaf swaps

Not much info because rangers are pretty easy to swap a coil sa into. Only axles I hear of using are Dana 30 and jeep Dana 44. Which that old Dana 44 is low pinion. That bugs some people. I think its mainly those that tackle the rocks which is understandable. But a leaf swap is pretty simple to do as long as you can weld.

You can also find a 78-79 f250 and get the dana from that. Their high pinion. For leaf spring mount take a look at build.

I knew there was some short year of ford that came with leafs. Is the spline count higher on the ford than the jeep axle?

I think their the same spline count, just a differnt length shafts.

The ford and jeep axle are the same spline count. Leaf spring swaps are easy just need the crossmember in the front.
