You know you own a Ranger when...

you know you own a gen1 ranger when you hit 80mph and your truck pukes dead leaves from the heater box all over you while your eating a nice tasty double cheeseburger....

you go out to the corner store and one your heater hoses starts leaking, the night before you have to work, 100miles away...

you can replace all heater hoses with 6 ft of 5/8ths hose in 30 mins or less.

all these happened to me lastnight/today.... brb, need to go vacuum cab out..

I remember when i had my first ranger and met a Semi truck.....
Whooooosh!!!!!!! Dirt, leaves, sticks, more dirt blows outta the vents.
It SUCKED.
Actualy, i guess it blew huh?

You know you own a ranger when your v6 gets worse mpg's than a half ton's v8

You know when you own a Ranger when........

Your fellow mechanic coworkers ask you to go look at the Ranger they are currently working on.

You can immediately tell what engine the truck has just from the year and hearing it run.

You run the VIN of every truck you look at through the Ford fleet vin decoder to see if the truck was built at the at the Twin Cities plant.

You check crucial rust areas before test driving one.

You own more than one, than decide that in order to buy more, you need to get rid of the current ones you have because you don't have the room for them.

Every time you see a Ranger come into the shop you work at, you hope that the owner won't fix it and you'll get to buy that truck for cheap, either for parts or to fix up and drive.

You know you own a ranger when you follow jacked up trucks in the woods with your stock ford, and end up pulling them out

you know you own a ranger when:

while working at autozone, you can diagnose a customers problem and pull parts for their rangers, all without ever looking at the computer.

you can identify a ranger from across a walmart parking lot, just by the sound of its blown exhaust, all while sitting on your toolbox, waiting for your buddy with a trailer to come get you because you managed to shear 4 flywheel bolts at 9:30pm, 200 miles from home

when it sits in your backyard for two years because you haven't had time to fix it, but just cant bring yourself to sell it

when you contemplate selling your daily driver that is ten years newer, has 100K less miles, and gets three times the gas mileage, so you can maybe finally afford that v-8 swap you've been dreaming of since you bought the truck 3 years ago.

You know you own a Ranger when you constantly want to do stuff to it.

You know you own a Ranger when your wife says "What's that noise!?!?

and your calm reply is....."If it isn't hurting your eardrums----Don't worry about it"

You know you own a Ranger when you leave the Chevy parked in the garage and drive the Ranger because its more reliable.

You know you own a Ranger when you say "Well, the steering wheel is original."

Radio??? what's a radio? Oh yeah, that little rectangle noise box that used to be in my dash...quit working bout the fourth time some yahoo spritzed most of a fermented beverage on it. Since I tossed that out the window, if you want music to listen to, you roll up the windows and grab the mouth harp off the dash...start playing while you drive and the dog(s) chime in...it's an acquired taste, though, and not meant for everyone...usually good for a belly laugh or two though.

You know rangers are superior when your full size chevy buddy still buys them to play with because he doesnt want to keep fixing the chevy.

You know you own a ranger when people stop in at a mech's asking what their buddy's truck is doing there because it is just so noticeable.
