Concealed Carry Pistol Thread

i finally bought a pistol back in early november and i'm taking the CC class on the 27th next month! i'll feel much better once i have it.

if I walk out my front door... I have it. I gotta go do my "enhanced permit" deal..
In MS, with the enhanced permit sticker... the ONLY place I can't carry legally is in court when court is in session... doesn't matter if they have a no firearm sticker on the door or not!!!!

Do “No Gun Signs” Have the Force of Law?
“YES” (For Non Enhanced Permit Holders)
“NO” For Enhanced Permit Holders. See AG Opinion No. 2001-00295
§ 45-9-101. License to Carry Stun Gun, Concealed Pistol or Revolver
(13) In addition to the places enumerated in this subsection, the carrying of a stun gun, concealed pistol or revolver may be disallowed in any place in the discretion of the person or entity exercising control over the physical location of such place by the placing of a written notice clearly readable at a distance of not less than ten (10) feet that the "carrying of a pistol or revolver is prohibited."

Got a call from the PD today, my CPL is waiting for me. :icon_thumby:

Nice. I took one of my kids to their orthodontist yesterday and he said "Hey, if you want to get your concealed permit let me know. I don't want to sit through the classes without someone else." Now, as in my Cripes thread, I just need to find some ammo.

I took the class last month. I don't know when my permit will show. They are so backed up it could be 6 weeks. I use a Ruger LC9 for my carry gun. It has heavier recoil springs & a Galloway trigger kit. The kit really made the trigger feel good. The heavy springs cut the recoil way down. Its a sweet shooting gun now.Plus I can hide it in my pocket.

Nope, had to go in, sign it and pick it up. I guess if you're denied, they send you a letter.

Here you can carry in somewhere that has a no gun sign...but there are different ones. At a bar, there's a law code listed on the sign. It's the law.

Some stores just have a policy of no guns there. No law. You can legally carry in these places, but if asked to leave you must or it's trespassing

Yeah that's kinda the way we are unless you have the enhanced permit. In TN it has to be the official sign with the code

got my CCP in the mail yesterday. they said it would take up to 90 days, but it was only around 40. now i just need my suppressor to get here!

Picked up a M&P shield last night for work carry.

nice, what's your thoughts on it so far?

I like it, shot some +p through it today. Needs a stippling job so I can hang on to it a little better. Quite snappy with the heavy loads.

My first gun and carry is the "elusive" Shield. I got it at the turn of this year at one of the numerous Texas Gun Shows. It's a great gun! 0.95" wide, single stack 8 (for the 9mm). It's comfortable, light, and not bulky at all. At 15 yards and 600+ rounds through it, I am pretty accurate. On the B-27 target, everything was 9 circle or better after a box.

Slo-vo, do you carry with the regular or extended magazine?

I'm very happy with it, and the M&P line was what I liked the most. The Glock 26, XDs, and LC9 were just not my cup of tea. The grips were too boxy or bulky, and even though you ca change the backstraps, I still don't think I'd like the handling characteristics of them.

Wanna get a M&P 9C in the future for the wife. We'll see.

4.0B2, how much did you get your Springfield for?

when I got my XDm 3.8" 45acp... they were $599 new from Sportsman's Warehouse

now, same store... they are $729 I think....

I have a S&W Sigma 9mm. When I work at night I take with to sites. I smooth trigger pull does not require a lot to pull it back.

I have this same model and agree i like the way it shoots. I'm really diggin the rock island armory .45 1911 tactical I have just gotten recently though but it's not really as much of a conceal weapon as an "oh shit" weapon for an intruder xD

My dad just bought the SD9VE, the new sigma, it's 9mm and it's pretty cool. They took the old one and improved on everything that people wanted, it's got no safety, but a medium trigger pull to compensate for it. Very good pistol, accurate, reliable, light weight, even stainless steel and plastic for durability.
You can pick one up if you can find one for $329.
