TTB vs TIB

He's talking about an SAS with a D30 from a Jeep. They are pretty much throw away axles to Jeep guys.

(Dont get me started on that axle... I'd much rather have a TTB D35 then a solid D30. Let the Jeep guys throw their trash away. :D )

TTB is easier for me to install than a SAS, since I want to limit welding and would only have to technically weld/design one bracket instead of full leafs or a three-link.

Plus I figured I would never see the type of extremes needed to "destroy" the D35 with this vehicle, so might as well keep it simple(minimizing the welding though increasing work time). Just got to locate a lift kit to strip what I need and then make a trip to pick n pull to pull an axle. Once the axle is fully installed then I can figure out the transmission, drive shaft and rear axle.

I keep hearing that but for some reason or another apparently nobody told the local Jeep guys that.... they all want real money for a D-30. Of course, I also saw a CJ around here with a big V-8, a ton of lift, and on 38" tires running a D-30.....

Really?!?

I bought a D35 rear (just for the 3.07 gears) for $50 bucks, and the guy threw in the D30 just to get rid of it.

Just figured if you're gonna be starting from scratch but I do see where a ttb d35 would be better.

Just a quick poke through the local CL....

May 11 2001 jeep wrangler rear dana 35 3.73 $325

May 10 JEEP WRANGLER YJ FRONT AXLE $150 (has 3.07 gears)

Someone else has a D-30 for $50..... but it is just the pumpkin and tubes, nothing else...
