know any thing about suppressors?

sorry forlack of reply been workin alot. most my shots are under 200 yards. haw far is subsonic ammo good too? what good will the supressor do without subsonic. i dont need silent just wanna hunt without er plugs. and does any one know if the atk store will sell subsonic ammo? guess i could go in and check bit i hardly go to thst plant location

Using a suppressor without subsonic's is pointless, I've shot regular ammo in some before and it seems like it actually amplifies the noise. There's going to be a change in the ballistics at 200 yards, you can try and find a chart for it, here's a calculator if you wish to put in the details yourself.

And for me whenever I go hunting, unless I'm firing multiple shots, I won't ever really hear the shot I take. I guess adrenaline has something to do with it, but they also make headphones that amplify the noise around you and when you take a shot or something loud goes off they shut off to block the noise.

ive heard about those. maybe ill pick up a set and see how well they work.

i dont think i'd try to kill an animal with subsonic ammo at 200 yards. it may be able to humanely kill them, but i'd be skeptical. the last deer i killed was shot at 25 yards with a .308, the bullet didnt even go through the other side and he still ran for another 100 yards. i dont think i'd try to use it past 50 yards, but i dont know the ballistics of subsonic ammo.

go to youtube and you can find videos of people shooting all sorts of guns suppressed/unsuppressed and with and without subsonic ammo.

when i've hunted in the past, i'll just put in some earplugs real quick right before i take the shot.

It is weird how that works, you notice neither the recoil or noise when you are actually hunting. Your body still feels it though (it is still hard on your hearing). That said the only hearing protection I have when I go hunting is my elmer fudd hat with the ear flaps down...

Usually its cold, so I wear a shemagh scarf. Makes me look like a terrorist, but keeps me warm. Really when you wear something over you ears, it will block most of that soundwave.

Well, realistically if you are going to hunt big game, a suppressor is not very keen, with subsonic ammo. Really all I use one for it my .22 for varmint shooting, I'm taking multiple shots and I'm at a such close range and have 50 rounds in a magazine I'm good.

For close range don't wake the neighbors varmint (rabbit, squirrel...) shooting I either opt for my pellet rifle or bow. Quiet, cheap, effective and a ricochet doesn't carry near as far as a .22LR.

.22's are very ricochet friendly, especially when it comes to water, but yeah I've seen pellet rifles that get about 1000fps and they come suppressed, you don't have to buy subsonic pellets lol!
