Anybody know how well or not well a 2001 or newer super cab would fit on my 1996 frame? I rolled my Mazda 4x4 and want to swap cabs out but wondering if I could get suicide doors out of this!

Thanms

The body mounts are in the same place, it will bolt on, but the electrical is a little different...

Yeah even if the body mounts were slightly different I could always cut and weld them somewhere else....but far as the electrical...you mean like for all the harnesses and stuff?

Interior of my truck is in perfect shape (except for the headliner) so I could swap the whole dash if I needed too, i wonder if that would simplify things?

You could do that, or run the 01 harness. I think it would be easier to pull the frame harness (fuel pump and tail light harness) along with an 01 cab from the yard it would be less work...

Alright if I find a 2001+ cab I will ask about getting the frame harness too...anything else I should nab that would make my life easier? Dash? Interior should all swap over from mine as well as the control modules (I'm hoping...)

Already have a line on a 97 cab, just waiting to set up a time to go see it before they pull it off the frame.

I'd rather wait for a newer cab though, those stupid fixed doors on mine have always driven me nuts, plus a 2001+ Ranger cab/front clip would be a baddass SAS rig all said and done...

98-00 had the ex-cab doors, might want to look into that, no wiring issues with them. The wiring on 01+ is different, so if you get 01+, I'd try to get it complete. If you can't get it complete, then just take your dash and harness and put it the replacement cab...

Awesome I didnt know the rear doors started so early..I'll just look for a 98-00 and if I end up with something newer I'll just swap EVERYTHING from my donor.

thank SVT

01 style rad will not fit between the framerails on a 96, and i believe the front body mounts are spaced differently. I know of atleast one member here that has done the swap.

What about 98-00 model years?

Josh (josh40601) did an 01 body on a 94 frame, and his truck will be at my shop next weekend for a V8 swap, I can do the measurements then if you need em, but I'm almost positive he dropped it right on...

98-00 is basically the same as the newer ones.. i know.. i have a 00 body on my 95 frame.. the radiator mounts have to be rewelded and so do the front body mounts.. other than that it bolts down where your other cab does..

whatever you do, think about how cool an 01+ mazda clip on an SAS rig could be!
