what shackles can I use for my 1987 BII? and a cowl hood

I take serious issues with the structure of that sentence.

Saying "cowl hood for cheap" is something akin to saying "high quality Daewoo".

Search "cowl hood, Ranger" on google. It will bring stuff back, but it won't be cheap.


On the other hand, if you just want looks, get the stick-on scoops.

Shipping on hoods is the largest problem I see. You would be best seeing when a hood manufacturer will be at a swap meet or such and bring a hood to the meet.

Belltech 6400 shackles are the most commonly used, and autozone stocks shackles that have identical specs and quality, but are packaged under a no-name brand for a quarter of the price.

As for the hood, you won't find a cheap one, and if you do find one, it will be obvious that it's cheap.

No, you kinda asked outright where to find one.

As for building your own, you don't want bondo, you want sheet metal and a welder.

I fab/build/weld for a living. But what I paid for a set of GM lowering shackles on ebay wasn't even worth fabbing them myself.

I've watched all of the wjp004's videos, and he seems to know what he is doing and explains it well. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the specific video I was looking for where he adapts one style hood scoop into a different style hood. I'll let you look for it as I don't want to take the time right now. However, here is one of his vids that will give you a good idea what would be involved in making your own fiberglass hood;
