Escorts 2nd SAS

Hopefully get at least the draglink from you soon. Two years of being able to turn to the right more then the left is getting annoying, plus having an upside down steering wheel too.

I still need to get that boxed up for you. I will try to do that next week.

Sounds good to me.

Took it for about a 15 mile drive, hit highway speeds and down some dirt roads. Wanted to see how it drove before the 100 mile drive to Michigan tomorrow morning.
Well, I adjusted to toe in to 3/16". It was set at 1/8". This made it worse. So I need to go back to 1/8 or less. Hope that works.
Also with it at 3/16", it had some bad bumpsteer handling. It didnt have it when I drove it to work the other day with the toe at 1/8...

I'm still having issues with the steering. To late now to change anything, so ill have to deal with it.

I don't see how this setup is giving you trouble.

I have a little bump steer with my setup but nothing that bothers me. And you do remember what my setup looks like and how it acts on pavement, the last ranger meet said it all.

Your killing me not posting pics up of bundy hill and your trucks damage. I wont go into detail for those that dont know.

It takes time to upload to photobucket and here, plus I haven't gotten any from my son yet.

Went to Bundy Hill Saturday. Had fun, meet a couple new people from here and hope to wheel with them again.
It ended up raining part of the day, then a good rain the last 2 hours. It started to get sloppy.

As soon as I get pics uploaded and the ones from my son ill post em.

Upon inspection yesterday, I noticed some flaws to the radius arms. They don't like extreme droop. Both jam nuts on driver side were loose from the axle twisting...ok, no problem I can just tighten them. It was on the passenger side I noticed something odd. All the way home every time I would hit a bump I would here a noise, I broke the upper arm bolt at the axle. 1/2" grade8 bolt. The whole bolt was missing. So, I need to put bigger bolts in there.

Also caught the rear diff on a rock. It broke the weights off the driveshaft, bent the driveshaft. Bent the driver side shock mount on the axle, and bent the diff cover. It wasn't leaking, but this morning I noticed a puddle of oil under it. Time to have Matt at GentBent Kustoms make me one.

Also I destroyed the bed sides. Apparently I have to much flex for stock fenders. Lol. The tires just mangled the bed sides.
But it was fun and can't wait to do it again.

I wouldn't say you destroyed your bedsides. The tires just "self-clearanced" them for you.lol

Yeah. Lol
The support braces on both sides are ripped off the bed sides. And every lug on the edge or the tire has cuts or chunks missing now.

This is about the best picture I could get of the bed. Hard to see it in picture.

So how did she drive home with a bent rest shaft?

As you can see, anything you break on yours, I see as I should do to mine seeing as I hope to be able to go with you all one time next year.

We need carnage pics!!!

And didn't you just get that rear driveshaft this year and is already broken?

It's not really bent, just has a nice spiral crease and a small dent where the weight was. And yes, that was my newer good driveshaft. I have the junk aluminum one in for now.
The drive home was interesting, it gave a nice back massage. Lol
If it wasn't downpouring on the way home, I would of changed it.
I'll get on the computer tonight and upload pictures. Just give me some time. I only get 2G at work and would take all day to upload pics.

Did the same thing to my Ranger. It's the leaf springs causing it. Change your center pins. Trust me. To fix the walking rear end, a rear track bar should be added.

As for the steering, I would blame the bump steer/death wobble to the angle of the track bar and drag link.

Awesome to see you getting into the gnarlier trails :)
