Found a precleaner that should work. All told if it is built out of heat bent 3" PVC conduit and a little constructive plumbing under the hood and inside the fender I would say about $50 in materials.

Did you work around or replace the rad overflow tank and wiper fluid tank? I was looking and it would seem easier to make new overflow and bring plumbing right into the back side of the air box. My overflow tank was hillbilly glued back together and i was already considering replacing it. Washer fluid tank might take some engineering.

Do you mean the vacuum line? I had to rip my oe inlet off at the airbox, just put a properly sized screw in the vac line and no problems. You should run a little better without the oe heatee off the head. I surely do. And make sure to put a screen on the end of your snorkel to keep debris out.

There is another rectangle-like piping running off the inlet pipe before the airbox, im not sure exatly were it goes but I thinke is for the transmission or something. Could you tell me what that pipe is for and what to do with it.

It goes to the heat shield around the exhaust manifold. It ducts warm air to the intake. Just remove and toss the whole deal. The vac lines control the blend door inside that ducting to control intake air temp.

Alright, thanks alot that was the one thing throwing me off this whole time. Now its time to get started on water proofing the cab and engine. I'll have that snorkel up in now time

How does one waterproof the engine? I'd imagine that even with a snorkel, you submerge them spark plugs and it's all over...

Dielectric grease on everything. RTV dizzy cap etc.

Here is what the boot connecting the airbox to the pipe looks like.

Its off a 93-94 2.3

I bought a mandrel bent 3" "U" and cut and clocked various parts until it looked the way I wanted, then welded it up and ground the welds flush.

The pipe behind the fender has a 30* bend or so to get it up over the wheel arch.

There is 45* boot connecting the mid pipe to the snorkel.

Hey Plum.. Thanks for those close ups. I spent about an hour looking over my setup yesterday trying to more or less calculate the bend angles and how many pieces I would need to get it all curved into place. You wouldn't by chance still have that fender template laying around and could give us a few measurements?

No, I tossed it and scrapped the extra prototype fender like an idiot. I may try to trace it out again.
