92 eddie bauer expo 4x4 5 speed

ok so i have been told that this configuration is starting to become more and more rare, i was wondering if this is true and if so y?

the 5 speed explorers period.. are rare around here. Usually if you can find a 5 speed explorer, its a 2 door.

In '92 the Eddie was the top-o-the-line trim package. IIRC, it was an "option delete" to get a stick in an Eddie back then.

I think stick in an Eddie has always been a option delete.

On top of that stick Explorers were not common. Eddie Explorers were not that common that year. 92 Explorers are now rare period.

So take a vehicle that is now uncommon due to its age, throw in options that were not common when it was new, and add 20 years, I do not see the question as to why it is becoming extremely uncommon.

I've seen a few manual expo's. 2 first gens/4 dr and a 2002/2 dr. unfortunately all at the JY.

Yes, and I work on an 87 4x4 with M5OD/BW1354M, 31-spline 8.8 disc and D-35 every day. High frequency of seeing a rare vehicle doesn't count if you own it. Even less so if you built it like I did.

Technically our trucks shouldnt be considered "rare"... Ford never built them that way. They are 1 of a kind.


I do see a Centaurus Explorer almost every morning on my way to work.

(not the exact one, same colors though.)

thanks for the replies guys so for 800 with bad ujoints and ball joints, with only 107k on it did i get a good deal?

A running '92, that just needs a little work, for $800... sounds like a good deal to me.

yea i thought so its dinged up but nothing i cant fix and then the windsheild is cracked but still legal and then u joints and ball joints and i dont have low range so i was wondering can i swap over the manual transfer case of my 84 b2 to this expo

My 94 4.0/M5OD has 152K and going strong. 107k on the 4.0/M5OD is nothing if you keep up on maintenance.
