Having a hard time finding a transmission

I need an m5od 4x4 transmission that will bolt up to a 3.0 v6. Apparently its harder to find than I thought. Are these rare transmissions?

Rare is one word. They are specific more than they are "rare".

I know my boss has at least one 3.0 version in his garage at home. Not sure if it is 2wd or 4x4 though.

I have a 2wd version. A tailshaft swap would be necessary though.

Ah yeah, Im near cleveland Ohio. How hard is it to do a tail shaft swap? I can easily get a hold of a 2wd trans.

That isn't as simple as it sounds. You would need to disassemble the transmission to change out the mainshaft as the autonatic is longer.

I'm going to assume you meant "the 4wd shaft is longer"? Automatic and manuals have zero interchangeable parts (that i know of)
