hello peoples, more questions. i just recieved an 8.8 rear end for free out of a fox body mustang. it is set up for the four link suspension system. quick quiz, i wanna know if this will fit under my 87 ranger. of course there will be some mods but i would like to make it work cause it was free. thanks

Other than it is a 4 bolt rear end and you will have to cut all the brackets off yup.

And the pinion is centered. That might cause a battle for space between the driveshaft and the gas tank.

Yeah, this is probably more problems than it's worth. Especially if it's a 2.73 R&P.

Hopefully you can find someone looking to swap out their 7.5 rear. The 4 cylinders had 7.5's as well.

I went with 2.94s.....and they're too lazy.....

you need a rear end at least in the 3.08 or higher.....

They are too high for a 302, let alone anything that came in a Ranger.
