i have a pioneer DEH-P490IB head unit that is less than a year old, now ever since i have had the head unit it shorts out when my rpms start to rise now its doing it when the head unit gets to hot and only when it gets to hot, so i run my air conditioner and that stops the short because its cools it down, what should i do and keep in mind the head unit been replaced 3 times someone please help

One bad radio maybe, but three, very unlikely. Not a radio problem.

Can you measure the voltage at the radio when it shuts off?

yea check the factory wire there may be an issue there, as for the heat i dont know it is rare that there is enough heat in the dash to effect the unit. If you are not comfortable tearing you truck apart i advise taking it to a MECP installer at a local shop.
