The Android Appreciation Thread

Oh and google as in the owner of android bought part of moto so moto will more then likely become the next pure google device

I want to get one of these new google tv's as well. Too bad I don't smoke, then I could quit and buy one with the extra money.

Samsung has non standard Bluetooth drivers. There is a check in torque to adjust for that. I have sgs2 and it works pretty good with my cheap unit.connecting can be strange from time to time.

ok, i might switch from my iphone 4 to android...

if i were to switch, several things, first, what phone am i going to like best? i like my iphone, only thing i don't like is that i've got a linux box, and no way to restore/update my phone, and being it's jail broken, i can't even update it from the phone it's self, unless i can find a way to unjailbreak it from the phone... so can android be used, updated, synced and so on, through linux computers?

When the Note 2 comes out ill sell ya my Note for a good price.

What's this Google TV you speak of? Is it like the apple TV but for android?

note, jelly bean, ice cream?

Android (and google) has a tongue in cheek naming system.

Android version 1.5: Cupcake
Android version 1.6: Donut
Android version 2.0: Éclair
Android version 2.2: Frozen Yogurt (Froyo)
Android version 2.3: Gingerbread
Android version 3.0: Honeycomb
Android version 4.0: Ice Cream Sandwich
Android version 4.1: Jelly Bean

Yes it is. Google has a little advertisement about it here:

I believe Sony is the only company to offer it at the moment. But I think Samsung is hopping aboard.

EDIT: I take that back, it looks like LG already has one too.

I've been having issues with my torque app connecting through bluetooth to my galaxy tab.

I was never a huge fan of the nexus, but our store demo feels pretty solid. We did have an issue with one of the plastic tabs on the back not snapping into place though.

My buddy that has the S2 was able to connect to mine (pic below) after messing with his phone A LOT. He has an actual ELM327 (looks just like the one in fastpakr's link) that it will not connect to at all on a Ford. I even tried my Droid X and couldn't get it to connect. However, he has a GMC truck, and it connects fine.

I have this one, and it works great. It was 15 dollars on Ebay:

Thanks everyone. I will be getting one of these. Apparently since ya'll use them. They must work. I was in the market for a scanner anyway. Seems to be the best and cheapest route.
