Mold smells will come back because mold usually keeps growing, At the local grocery store there is a chlorine and something else chemical combination that you can buy and it will kill mold and prevent it from growing more, It also comes with an aersol. I would invest in this cause Irish SPring wont last forever.

look on line for a company named Jon Don. They sell a product called Bad Dog. It is THE BOMB!!!!!! Basically what it is, is 100% Hydreogen(sp) Peroxide. Takes out ALL odors and stains. You put it on a cloth and wipe in on. It will turn your hands white(wear rubber gloves0 as it is eating bacteria on your hands. It is really awesome though. Just a thought for those real bad odors. I used it on my couch from the cat peeing on it and there are no odors at all.

I've heard the jute (spelling) backing under the carpet will hold in a lot of bad smells. Might look into changing it and cleaning the carpet while it is out.
