Jacked Stereo

well guys it happens since 03 ive had my car broken into twice

ive had 2 decks stolen
an ipod
two high end subs
two amps
had all of the lock cylinders replaced
over 2k worth of body damage done by theives

no matter what they will get in if they want to

i have tinted windows and an alarm with a two way pager still doesnt change the fact that anyone could take a brick and throw it through my window

they arent theives there kids lookin for a quick score....a thieve would know the fords weakness, it takes less then 10 seconds to break into any ranger using just ur antenna, this has been covered before, ther is a hole on the door handles that u can get to the linkage, just insert antenna pop the lock and in u are

oh ya, also works on MANY MANY other fords aswell, including all foxbody mustangs

I dont know what the state regulations are where any of you live. but when i lived in south carolina there were all kinds of people who got their shit broke into. I would say put the darkest legal tint that you can on it. my ranger currently has 5% on every window and a 5 in strip across the top of my winshield where i put my tomtom

1. it makes it harder to see if you have anything worth stealing

2. makes it harder to break the window

it works well enough for me, i was actually suprised to how dark it is. i was pulled over recently for my neons and the officer had his high beams and his spot light on the back window and still couldnt see in. lol

idk about u man, but if i was a thieve tinted out windows= goodies in the car
more cars with tinted windows get broken into becuase of the thought of that if they tinted the windows theres gotta be a reason

But how do they know all that equipment is in there? Do you have a sign on your truck? I have 2 amps, Deck, DVD player, Ipod, TV Tuner, 2 TV Monitors and I could go on for days. Yet when you look into my truck, all you see is a Deck with the face missing.

Other than a tool box painted to match the truck and tinted windows, my Ranger looks like any other Ranger out there. I think thats the key. The college parking lot is a place thieves love. Last semester, the car parked next to my truck was broke into. My truck was never touched. Why? They never saw anything worth taking.

There must be a reason your ride got broke into twice.

sometimes i keep my tools and drill in the back of my truck. i just through my work coat over them when i park somewhere. My muddy plaid work coat is all you see and night because of the tinted windows. seems to work.

my friend had a sweet stereo in his truck, got up one morning and it was all gone. it was in his driveway for less than 5 hours. He went to a guy he knew who knew some people etc etc and got all new stuff for a *steal* though, so i have no sympathy for him.

i surprised people don't steal fog lights. like the piaa, ipf, kc ones. a socket and wire cutters could get $400 worth of lights in no time.
