Confusion abounds with my V-8 swap

my friend if i live closer id b all over this truck... exactly like my 88... same body and color... too bad you lost interest but it happens. i sold my 89 lx with a 5.0 and 5 spd cuz i lost interest.. good luck

It's just not fun anymore. Dunno. I may regret it some day, but my heart just isn't in it to finish. Needs a shifter too. I have one from a Mustang but it doesn't work or I'm just not doing it right.

Did you get a chance to see if those headers fit with an AOD?

If that trans came out of a Marquis with a column shift, and that Mustang shifter was on the floor, and the linkage is jamming up when shifting - It would seem that you'd need to flip the shift arm 90 degrees. They clocked them differently.

Stick to it dude. I'd love to get started on my '87, but not enough money and parts acquired to do anything useful.

Cant wait to see your 87 with a v8. if I were you I would keep it as a sleeper truck.
