Kyle M's Ranger Rebuild

I'd do a full satin black, much easier to touch up when it gets messed up.

you know kyle i think someone brought up the idea of a full underbody skid after you first posted that video. have you given it any thought?

Yes, I plan on building one the goes oil pan to tcase. I think I need it lol

I think they're nothing more than extra weight for the average wheeler, but the average wheeler doesn't drive quite like you do...

yea... id most definetly be doing a full skid.... one guy we wheel with went through 3 oil pans in like 2 months in his crawler. i have a 4'x4' sheet of 1" thick hard plastic from conveyors that i want to make mine out of. its basicly the stuff they use on indoor ice skating rinks

I'll be doing a skid from my K member to the tranny crossmember too, and lining it with 3/8" of the UHMV plastic. If I can find a H3 Alpha oilpan I'll be golden and nothing will hang below the frame.

FWIW, I made a big, stupid, heavy skid that goes from my K member to just behind my rear T-case (covers the tranny cross member). The 3/8 Plate that's under my oilpan/bellhousing has had the shit bent out of it the past two runs. So in my book, its worthy putting a little effort into some protection in that area.

my iroks have wrecked 3 trans pans driving on....rather turning onto dirt roads or power sliding a bit on them. just simple stone hits:dunno:

the one on there now has a repair in it. seems the 4l80 pans are thinner then my aod pans.

and none of my previous protection works with it....:annoyed:

Just went and drove the ranger, everything seems to work fine. Only 2 issues with running, it is cold blooded and the alternator isn't charging.

Just need to align it better, shorten the track bar, make shifter linkages for the tcase and fab a skid plate and it will be time to flog it.

Looks nice Kyle. What does the back look like now?

Looks the same as before, haven't touched it.
What's all that white stuff?

We've been sorely lacking in the snow this year down here...

This is our first real snow here, way late for us. I want more to go play in it.
