Project 4x4 Commuter Mazda

remember to thread the attachment end of the line through your hawse before spooling it on your drum...:D

We had a "know it all" do his one time in 4wheelparts parking lot.... Yeah he forgot lol. And NO ONE would tell him! :icon_rofl:

He was that guy that never made mistakes and wouldn't listen to any suggestions or anything.... So we just let him go.

I don't need the steering. I need the radius arms.

sheesh...and I offered up my extended arms ages ago:dunno:

that's cool.. i wanna do it. mainly for the weight reduction! lol.
just the safety thimble is cool to since you're usually using a d-ring to rig up stuff.

how you gonna like the synthetic rope? i always hear its better and stronger but i dunno.... i just have a hard time believeing that. especially when they say you cant get dirt in it or rub it on rocks.

I won't have a chance to test it until I get a hawse, but after spooling it onto the drum I am very pleased.

From a weight savings and usability stand point, it is a no brainer and I am convinced I will never go back to steel. As far as rubbing it on rocks, well you shouldn't rub steel line either, but the fact that synthetic rips pretty easy on sharp stuff isn't all that much of a turn off for me since overall it is much safer when it fails. If the same steel line fails on a sharp rock, people around watching are gonna get hit and get seriously injured and or die. But with synthetic, it might whip someone and give them a raspberry, but nobody is gonna bleed or die from line failure.

As far as the dirt thing, yeah keep it clean best you can....might be kinda hard in the mud ect but it isn't that crucial, as long as one washes it out with water before using it again. From an abrasion standpoint it is pretty durable aside from the fact it can cut more easily.
