daily doubler build

i wondered if you could use sending unit from 85 ranger going to carburator and elec pump:icon_confused:

Maybe, but doubtful. I don't think the pump for a carburated engine would make enough pressure for the high pressure FI system. I could be wrong though.

I had the KM2's on my Explorer. I liked them and they were great off-road. Buddy has the MTR Kevelar's and they do great off-road also. Both have good road manners too. I just sold my Durango's and got some 37 inch SSR's for the ranger. Gonna try them out on saturday.

37" SSR's would be an AWESOME tire. I love mine in the 35" flavor, I just wish they had better road manners. That being said, I'm sure they're better on the street than a bias ply tire, with comparable off road performance.

I'm going the MTR of KM2 route for the sake of trying a new tire, and hopefully their better on-road qualities.

im runnin 37x14x15 irok bias talk about on-road manners hahaha.

I have 35" km2s and they are the best tire I have had. I put 40 miles a day on them and wheel them when I can.

My buddy Jeremy(yellow JK) went from 35" MTRs to 37"KM2s and says the KM2 is much better.
Here is a video of his heep on km2s.

The 35 km2 are better on road than those junk mud kings and have a lot better on road manners in the rain than the km1's I had. About as good as the BFG A/T.

Greg - I know this. I've wheeled with both of you guys, twice. haha. Do you think, perhaps, Jeremy's increase in performance was due to going from a 35 to a 37 or do you think it was solely because of the different tire?

The reason I said MTR's are winning is due to their puncture resistance. Everything I've seen has alluded to the KM2's having relatively weak sidewalls.

Escort - Who said anything about Mud Kings? lol

Oh yeah, and here's some pics of my traction bar set up. Sorry for the bad pics. Bad lighting + cell phone = no bueno.

Lost virtually 0 clearance. I'd like to run a plate from my RA crossmember to the traction bar crossmember for t-case protection.

The axle bracket is from Ruff Stuff, as is the shackle and the poly bushings. The flex joint on the end of the bar is Ballistic's 2" joint. Like I said, too small.

edit: How about some Irok radials?

They seem to have less tread straight from the factory. I'm hesitant to go with another swamper as well.

Great tire offroad, not so much for Daily Driving (too soft).

From watching other folks run around on the new MTR's, I wouldn't mind having a set. They seem to be a pretty good all around tire, but I don't know anyone that DD's them personally. I do know a few folks that DD the Nittos (Have you looked into those) and I'm impessed with the mileage they're getting out of them.

I was comparing them to my km2. Lol anything is better than them.

We'll see how my schedule looks. We have a Chile trip lined out for work Nov. 28-Dec. 8, so if I get sent on that one I'd have to miss it. We've also got a trip to Sweden coming up later in Dec. Hopefully I get sent on the Sweden trip rather than the Chile trip. I'm sure I'll be going on one or the other, if not both.

Me and Jeremy are planning on the Badlands Dec. 3rd.

Sweet. I'll keep it in mind. I still haven't wheeled since they reworked the quarry for WEROCK. It's like a whole new park.

Kage - I haven't really looked into the Nittos. For some reason I just don't like them too much, and though I haven't checked lately, I always had it in my mind that they were expensive. I dunno.
