you probably have done this, but check the simple little things, like is the cap on tightly, enough fluid...

Both are fine. After my rear end swap I noticed there was no fluid in the tank so I topped it off. Could it be air in the lines?

Yeah, rear only. I replaced the abs sensor with a new one for that original explorer. Should I have used my old ranger one?

Did you swap in an Explorer axle? Unless it started doing it right after you did the swap I don't think it would be an issue.

My brother's '97 F-150 started doing the same thing a week ago when we were up in Omaha, after a long time of doing it the thing finally set off the ABS light, but it reset after he shut the truck off and never came on again. He is a Sr Master Ford Tech and was making noise about his RABS valve... he hasn't had a chance to actually look at it yet though. On mine the proportioning valve is right about under the drivers seat... vastly different truck without ABS though.

You might try bleeding it and see if helps any, I doubt it will though since you didn't open up the system.

If you still have it you might try your original Ranger sensor then.

I put in the origional sensor, seemed to bring the issue down some but is still there. Before I put the new sensor in, my truck wouldn't go over 45mph with the new rear end, now with my origional senor it's like 60mph top speed. I can't figure it out.

You said you let the res run dry, you might have got some air in the master cylinder, you might try bench bleeding the master cylinder, and then re bleed all four wheels.

I had the swap done in a shop but I know I had full brake fluid before hand. I mean would I loose all fluid in that process?
