"spindle nuts" quick easy question

im replacing my auto hubs for my new warn ones, and when i took the auto hubs off, on the axel shaft theres ususally that c clip, then a retained needle barings inbetween to washer type things, well it didnt have those in and i remember dealing with those on my other trucks axels, do you need that baring in there or can i just put the C clip and 1 washer on and be O.K?

did your other truck have auto or manual hubs? i cant say for sure but i think the difference is because of the different hub. ive only ever owned trucks with manual hubs and they have all had the 2 washers with the bearings in the middle...

What axle?

If its a D35, it's not supposed to have the bearings, just a washer (or set of washers- '95-'97).

yeah my other truck is standard hubs and has both washers and a baring in the middle, but on this truck when i took the auto hubs off it only had 1 washer and the C clip. should i look for the bearing or is it supposed to be like that? would it make any difference without it because that litle baring didnt look like it did much anyway

its a dana 35

my bad, i was assuming a D28 because his trucks an '88

The D35 probably SHOULD'VE BEEN designed with the bearing, but it wasn't.

Some issues with the washers becoming chewed up on the end of the spindle was solved for the most part with the '95-'97 design however (two steel washers with a Delrin plastic center washer, which can be swapped to '90-'94 axles). Just make sure everything's greased up good.
