im looking at a 91 exploder on 35s with 4.11s 10in lift. 4.0.... aprox mpg? cant be to terrible?.?:icon_confused:

Depends how and where you drive it. I'd say 10-15.

I would say with the auto, the tranny will cost you sooner or later when it decideds to blow up.

Not entirely true. I have a 93 with 125,000 on it, a4ld and i beat the living shit out of it, way beyond what it should handle and it hasnt given me any problems, i am running 2 tranny coolers and thats it.

your buying a ford, with 10 inch lift and 35's, and you major concern is mpg?

What does it have for a motor to push it along? I keep picturing a brick on stilts wheezing along with an overworked 4.0.....

Lower the lift down to 6" or less (trim the fenders for the tires), regear the axles to 4.88, inflate the tires to 35 PSI, and you may be able to get 20-21 out of it doing 60 on the freeway (16-18 around town, depending on how you drive).

Drive it like an animal though and you'll be lucky to get 14, even with the above.
